Eclectic Game No: 4

From our correspondent on the Eclectic front line:

“Rich

Yesterday you told me you thought you had increased your total score by 6.  You were right having had an excellent round of 41, but you also dovetailed quite nice.  Your total has moved from 47 to 53 thereby maintaining your lead over Smith who has suddenly nabbed 2nd place with an astounding improvement of 9 after a smashing round of 42 yielding him a new total of 50.  Then comes Nick with a superb round of 40 putting him one point adrift on 49, an increase 5.  Clearly, dovetailing is the key factor, but Nick refuses to licence the use of his Eclectic Opportunity Realization algorithms thereby maintaining an exclusive advantage by running with a cunning plan for each outing.

The key thing in being a distinctive Eclectic Artiste is to play often.  You and Nick (53 and 49) have played all 4 games, but Smith is hot on your heels (50) with only 3 games under his tight belt.  However, the dark horse coming up behind you 3 leaders is Waterhouse who is on 48, an amazing improvement of 14, after only 2 games.  Goodness knows what he will do with the 2 games remaining to decide who will plant Marilyn in their pride of place.

The current plan is Eclectic game 5 is on 20 August with the final to be after the BB Ryder Cup, but all this may change due to conflict with the JFGS.  We will see.

Aloha!”
