“Four BallBashers arrived early at temple for another Summer League game, and it was also good to see Peter Read who joined us for a light bite lunch.
After lunch the four (active) BB’s threw balls to decide the teams for the separate better ball competition on full BB handicaps. It was thus decided:
Team A: Alan & Michael W.
Team B: Bill & Rob.
We all started moderately well down the 1st fairway with us all in the hole for 5 each. 2pts. For the A team and 3 pts. For the B team. Bill and I were ahead. Wow.
At the halfway stage the scores were: Alan 17 pts. Michael 19 pts. Bill 15 pts. Rob 19 pts.ie: Team A 21pts. Team B 22 pts. Another wow. Bill and I had 1 bashcoin in the pot.
This result added a bit of stimulus to the A team. Alan driving laconically straight down the middle and Michael driving like a man possessed, 200yds+ straight down the middle. Whilst Bill & I arrived at the greens via devious routes. Needless to say, at the 18th, team A were ahead.
The individual results were:
Alan. 17 + 18 = 35 pts.
Michael W. 19 + 23 = 42 pts. (monstrous)
Bill. 15 + 11 = 26 pts.
Rob. 19 + 15 = 34 pts.
All round a very enjoyable game. Well done Michael.”
