From our correspondents (MikeS and Nick):
Eight golfers arrived at Temple for a 9.40am tee off on a cool May morning. Stuart made plain from the start that he did not wish to compete, but play a few shots on each hole and enjoy the company. He therefore joined the three golfers not in a buggy- Mike S, John S and Robert M, who played off three quarters handicap plus one for the Bitcoins and teed off first.
The four buggiers were Nick and John T and Bill and Rob A, playing as pairs
For the walkers the golf was the usual mixture of joy and curses, pars blobs and the odd lost ball, with John S redeeming himself for a poor start by a Bitcoin four pointer on the sixth leading to a 20 point haul at the far warmer half way point.
The walkers found the second half more difficult, but again produced another four pointer, this time with a birdie by Robert M on the eighteenth
We awaited the pairs on the terrace, not sure that 37 points would suffice. Whilst four Bashers did arrive, they had evolved into chauffeur Nick and another three ball. Despite this alchemy, the Bashcoins went to the first group 37 points to 27.
Results from today were:
Team A (MS, RM & JS) – 1st 9: 20 points – 2nd 9: 17 points – Total: 37 points (wins all the BashCoins)
Team B (JT, BF & RA) – 1st 9: 16 points – 2nd 9: 11 points – Total: 27 points
Individual Scores were:
Mike S – 33, Robert M – 28, John T – 26, John S – 20, Rob A – 20, Bill F – 12
(Checking of the cards revealed a couple of errors that are corrected in the above scores.)
